How Can I Interest The Activities Coordinator Of A Retirement Community To Have Programs With Children?

I live in a retirement community for older adults. I would like to participate in programs with children. There are no programs with children now. I would like to interest the activities coordinator to contact schools or day care centers and get some programming started. Any ideas? I know such planning takes time and effort.

Seniors I Have This Handyman Business & I Want Seniors To Know About It, What Is The Best Way To Do This?

I am on vacation now but when I get back home to MD I want to contact people who live in over 55 communities…..We actually have a friend we visited in one & we put our card on the community bulleten board there…..about a week later a lady called & mentioned we must know someone in the building & it ended up she knows our friend…so that worked out well….the lady we worked for was a widow who had put off doing many things since her husband wasn’t there to do the work…so my husband hung sconces & fixed the toilet, etc…..she was so thrilled to get this work done…..a friend of hers came over & asked for our cards…then that friend called before we left……So what is the best way for us to let everyone know that we do this work….we are sure people want what we do but we don’t want to be intrusive…we also don’t want to be so passive that we don’t get to do all the work we could be doing….thank you so much for your answer.

At A Retirement ‘do’ I Have To Make A Speech And Need Some Funny Stories. Any Ideas Please??

Hi – hope this helps!
Welcome, everyone, to this very special occasion. And a bitter-sweet occasion it is.
It’s very sad to be saying goodbye to XXXXXr. But – at the same time – we know that he leaves us in good shape and – going now – he’s got the chance to enjoy all that hard earned pension before the Chancellor gets his hands on it! I am sure that the rest of us who have to work into their eighties will have plenty of time to mull this over.
Ever since he joined us all those years ago – how many is it? 22, 23? XXXXX has been a pillar in this particular community/company. Or perhaps I should say a rock – since it was he who helped build the very foundations that have made this firm such a success. And who but XXXXX would have had the fortitude to deal with the slings and arrows that have assailed us? Not just the economic and industrial issues, but all those moves, the introduction of the vehicle fleet, all that IT stuff. He puts his success down to Mrs Morris’s fortifying tea and cakes but I think we all know that it stemmed from his utter commitment to our work and to our people. He has indeed been part of the lifeblood of this company!
This organisation will be a much emptier place without him, but it will be an honour to take up the baton as his successor and I promise to try and live up to his extraordinarily high standards.
Although we are saying goodbye to XXXXXX, this will not be the last we see of him. After all he’s only retiring not dying or joining a Trappist community. He has already agreed to join us at the next golfing day and I am sure that we will be turning to him for words of wisdom. And I know you all look forward to hearing about all his holiday exploits when he and (name of partner) return from (name of exotic place)!
On a final note, XXXXX, I would like to wish you all the very best on behalf of all of us. We really hope you have a wonderful trip to wherever! Good luck and let us all now raise our glasses to “XXXXX’s new life of Reilly”!

Is It Better To Have Stock Or Taxable Bonds In A Retirement Account?

I have a tax class where one of the questions is is it better to have only stock in a retirement account or only taxable bonds? any ideas??? At this point i think the taxable bonds should go in the retirement account because the coupon interest that is received twice a year is usually taxed at ordinary income tax rates and stock dividends would be at more favorable rates if they were not part of a retirement account. am i correct on this? any help would be great. thnx.

We Have 55+ Communities, Would Christians Like To Have Christian Communities Where…?

Gays are not permitted, church attendance is required on Sundays, stores are closed, schools only teach bible based curriculum, and abortion is banned?
Would you want to live in one of these communities or do you embrace diversity?
Do you think the entire country should be one of these communities?

Can A Small Business Have Both A 401k And A Profit Sharing Plan At The Same Time?

We’re at the point where we’d like to start a retirement plan. We’d like to have a profit-sharing plan for our employees but we’d also like them to be able to contribute to a 401k. Can we run both plans at the same time?

Does Anyone Have Suggestions On Switching From Gravel To Sand?

I bought about 130 lbs of sand (may be too much) of playsand from home depot. I have a 55 gallon fresh water community tank. No live plants. I have an Emperor 400, and was concerned that the sand may mess up the impeller on the filter. I plan on putting some of the old gravel into the filter to prevent a mini cycle.
Any advice?

So What’s Wrong With Brittney’s Non-retirement Plan? I Don’t Have A 401k Either!?

See this Yahoo story first:http://biz.yahoo.com/hmoney/071106/11060…
Besides the fact that she’s got boatloads of money, what’s wrong with not investing in a 401K?
Look, let’s be real here.
The baby boomers are a stampede of buffaloes who are so massive in numbers that they necessary trample on and destroy everything in their path, leaving dust and ruins in their wake. They just do, and they have, time and time again.
Is anyone so naive to think they won’t have a HUGE impact on the fate of 401K’s? Sure, they sound like a great plan, and if they were absolutely guaranteed upon pain of death, that would be one thing. But they aren’t. Once that stampede of buffaloes gets done WITHDRAWING from their 401K’s en masse, what kind of shape do you think they will be in for the rest of us? Yet another Ponzi scheme to be crumbled!
It’s smarter to invest where they will be SPENDING their money! Feed the buffalo, become rich.
