with my 401k payment but Vanguard just called me and told me I could not cash out my retirement. They sent me all the froms in January and waited 2 months to tell me they messed up.What can I do?Can legal action be taken?I really need that money. Thxs

You basic offerings for a 401K, but because it’s “new” they’re not offering an employer match – The first time I’ve seen one offered as such – is it still wise to invest in this or perhaps use other alternatives in retirement planning?

you don’t have to pay taxes on the money you take out of the roth ira. 401k is something different. you don’t have to pay taxes on what you put into that but you do have to pay when you take it out later. they have different rules. one of the big advantages besides taxes is that employers often match part of your contributions.

Keep in mind that there’s a lot of people who simply do not earn enough money to contribute any decent amount of money to their employers 401k plans. Having said that, what if a person works 30 years and can’t contribute to an employers 401k plan, how will they live in their retirement years ?
