Ok so I know that there used to be a law that if you were under 18 and you got social security benefits because one of your parents was one it, and you turned 18, but you continued your education and went to college, that you still got your benefits. Does this still continue today? My mom told me it doesn’t, but she also told me that my checks only went up $14 because my Dad died, which I know for a fact isn’t true. And she is a bit of a cheap wad, so I just want to know for sure.

There is so much to know about retirement options. Is there someone whose job it is to guide those planning for retirement to figure out one’s income from pension, social security, 401k, etc. without having to read all the fine print of each situation? At this time, my mind isn’t easily accepting new concepts or ideas. Is there someone whom I could hire to make it easier for me? I am looking for a title here and not for volunteers!

People at work have been complaining that the companys retirement plan sucks. We have 403b matching up to 3% and they put another 3percent without us having to do anything. Most people don’t do it. All they have to do is open the accound and they get 3 percent free but they don’t.
Now they are asking the company for 401k plans and the company refused saying we already have a really good plan and you can do it on your own if you want.
So why do they think 401K plans are so great? I’m thinking it is just them being stupid.

I live in a retirement community for older adults. I would like to participate in programs with children. There are no programs with children now. I would like to interest the activities coordinator to contact schools or day care centers and get some programming started. Any ideas? I know such planning takes time and effort.

I have worked in USA long enough to earn Social Security retirement benefits. But I plan to move back to Asia to retire. Would I still receive Social Security Benefits when I am at 67 from US government even I am in another country?
